Tour Itinerary
Day One We fly to the land of history, beautiful islands and marvelous scenery. This is a trip that has something for everyone.
Day Two We land this morning in one of the most important historic cities in the world—Athens. We will visit the Acropolis—a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most important archaeological sites in the world and the National Archeology Museum complete with Agamemnon’s Gold Mask and the art everyone sees in their high school history books. This is one of the top 5 museums in the world.
Day Three We head to the former port of Athens—Piraeus. The archeology here is world changing as Athens once led the world from its maritime fleet. The
Hagia Triada Cathedral is a great example of Neo-Byzantine architecture and a great tie-in to early Christianity.
Day Four We visit our first island today—just a day trip and speed boat away—Aegina. We will visit an Ancient Greek Temple and the lighthouse that protected ships for eons. On a more modern note, we will visit a pistachio farm—Aegina is the pistachio capital of the world.
Day Five We drive to Thessaloniki—one of the sites visited by Paul and namesake for the New Testament books and it is also a UNESCO site. Here we see some of the earliest churches of Christianity. This is also the site of an ancient Roman market.
Day Six We fly to our second island—Corfu. This is one of the great get-a-way destinations for the rich and famous. Its Old Town is a UNESCO site and its historic fort will amaze you. Probably one of the greatest charms is the abandoned town of Perithia. You can wander the streets of this once vital town and see what life was like 2000 years ago. We will also take a taste and tour one of Greece’s famous wineries.
Day Seven Another day in Corfu with visits to the ruined giant castle of Angelokastro. This is one of those picture postcard sites with magnificent views of the rugged coastline. We will visit an olive company so you can learn the difference between virgin and extra-virgin olive oil.
Day Eight We fly to Rhodes today. One of the most beautiful islands in the world—it is also home to one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World and it’s medieval city is a UNESCO site. The Colossus of Rhodes was a giant statue straddling the entrance to the harbor.
Day Nine We will circumnavigate the island visiting small villages, ancient archeological sites and natural areas. This is a great day for getting a real feel for the
rural Greek life.
Day Ten To Santorini and our fourth island. This is the island featured on many of the promos for Greece with its lovely beaches and all white buildings.
Day Eleven We explore one of the most unusual archeological sites in the world –Akrotiri. This ancient city is underground with many ancient mosaics and other artwork in place. We’ll boat around the island to see the cliffs, rock harbors and world renown beaches that make this the most photographed island.
Day Twelve We fly home from Greece with ancient wonders, tasty food, incredible scenery and some of the friendliest people in the world on our minds.
