Tour Itinerary

Day One  We fly today to the mythic land of Egypt.  This scenic and historic nation was the center of western learning and achievement.  We have a    special tour of this icon of the world waiting on your arrival.

Day Two  Upon arrival, we tour Cairo—the capital of this diverse country.  We will explore the Christian Cairo with its Coptic origins before stepping back in time to the Era of the Pharaohs.  We will visit the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization where the mummies of the great rulers now reside.  This      museum will be an introduction to the next day’s once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Day Three  This is the day that will knock your mummified socks off.  We begin with the greatest        museum ever built to a civilization—The Grand Egyptian Museum.  All of Tut’s tomb is displayed here for the first time ever along with monumental sculptures, incredible temples and unbelievable shrines—most never displayed before!  This is a highlight you will not forget.  This afternoon, we visit the best preserved Ancient Wonder of the World and UNESCO site—the pyramids and Sphinx.

Day Four  We visit one of the Modern Wonders of the World today—the Suez Canal.  We take a ride through it seeing the Sinai Desert for the first time. This is a marvel of mankind.

Day Five  We leave Cairo today and head to Alexandria—the ancient capital of Cleopatra and the site of  another 7 Ancient Wonders of the World—the Lighthouse of Alexandria.  We will see where the lighthouse stood and the remnants of its massive base, tour the new library (it is a wonder in its own right) and see the remarkable catacombs below the city.

Day Six  We head to the resort city of Sharm-el Sheik where the rich and famous of the world vacation.  We will tour the ancient ruins of the area and then you will have time at our resort hotel to head out to the beach on the Red Sea, explore the many boutiques or relax to get ready for the great excitement to follow.

Day Seven  We tour another UNESCO site and one of the earliest Christian monasteries in the world —St. Catherine’s.  Located at the foot of Mount Sinai—it is a place of pilgrimage for its history and sheer beauty.  We will end back at our resort.

Day Eight  We fly to Luxor today—the center of the great Egyptian Empire.  It is here that the Pharaohs ruled, were honored by great temples and were buried.  We will explore all of that.

Day Nine  We go off of the overdone tourist route today to visit two of the most beautiful and important  temples.  Our first step is Abydos—an amazing temple built by Seti the First.  The painting of the Gods and Pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple are among the most beautiful in all of Egypt.  We continue on to Dendera and visit the Temple of Hathor—the Goddess of Love and Joy.  This too is a masterpiece of Egyptian art and history.

Day Ten  This morning we head to the Valley of the Kings and Queens where we will visit the final resting place of the Pharaohs.  The wall paintings, hieroglyphs and carvings are exquisite.  Bill has some very special surprises for you here.  This afternoon we visit one of the largest religious buildings ever—the Karnak Temple.  Everything about it is a superlative—interior size, pillars, carvings and artwork.  This UNESCO site is unmatched.

Day Eleven  We head back to Cairo for one last night where we will be entertained by whirling dervishes, belly dancers and more. A great way to end a trip that time travels back to the ancient beginnings of civilization.

Day Twelve  We fly home today with memories of world wonders, incredible artwork, massive sculptures, awe-inspiring temples and ancient tombs.  No where else on earth can you find so many icons as this legendary place.
